Things I Hate About LOla

Lola is my kitten, she's four months old and according to me she's matured way too fast. From cuddly adorable child to perfect running teenager, she kept us glued to her. Now that we can visualize how next 10 years with her could be, i realized it was a grave mistake. Dog people should go for dogs for all the right reasons. Sometimes, i can't get enough of her, i just wanna squeeze her and hug her  other time i hate her for not reciprocating the love we shower on her every second.

So now I know why people won't prefer cats. For me, the reasons why i don't enjoy having kitten are :

1) Cats just don't care : Yeah they don't, there are people blabbing about how their cat sensed the mood and came to them in need, may be the cat was sleepy or on catnip. They just stare, keep staring till you stop crying or feel awkward being all sentimental before a freaky creature. Recently, she's been responding to our calls but i am pretty sure if someone breaks in and kills us, if she has to she will eat the eyes first.

2) Cats use us as staff : They do consider humans their staff. So occasionally they might compliment their staff by spending time with them or sleeping on their lap or playing with them but don't get too needy, its just to keep you on toes. They are here for food and comfort, quite straightforward creatures. Try to cuddle them when they are alone and you will know who's living in whose house. Its their terms and conditions we abide by. Its the nature of the cat, no can't change it.

3) Cats don't acknowledge your presence : This is the worst part, i get up in the morning and all i would expect is a big meow or at least a cuddle like a dog would do but no you have to reach out to them. Yeah lola does come to us in the morning and meows but thats because its meal time, if you leave food outside all we see on waking up is her scratching the door to go out. That whole warm welcome is dog's thing, they make you feel special.Cats make you feel ordinary, plain mundane lazy ordinary.

4) Cats are so horny :  I don't like her when she is horny, all rolling around, crying out for other cats to come to garden and do her. Its so sick for four month old kitten. Its like a nine month old types on facebook- wanted someone anyone for sex. Ewww its so yucky, we don't want to spay her, we want her to have kittens some time because she is kinda pretty. We can't afford to keep her inside, she makes extreme sad sounds if in house. Its just embarrassing and irritating to be around a horny one. Why god why do they have to reach puberty so soon?

5) Cats just need lap : Anyone comes to our house and lola goes to sleep on their lap. Their is no specific bond we share, she will sit sleep play with just any other human being. I have seen her cuddling to strangers giving her food and following them to the houses. Its like there is no special thing, just food comfort sleep. I hate the fact she could adjust to any house any time.

6) Cats are so choosy : While a dog would eat most of the things, cat would rather die than eat something they don't like. They are wild about meat and like it fresh. Just yesterday she was in balcony and caught a helicopter and brought it inside. We of course tried to make her let it go, but the meows grew louder until we let her go to balcony to kill it completely and eat it. She keeps eating spiders like crazy. Its so gross to find wings of animals inside a vegetarian house. As soon as the cat starts hunting, they prefer warm fresh animals, not homemade or bought cat food.

7) Cats jump a lot, they just don't listen : Yeah, i know its instinctive but she jumps a lot and worse than that, she just won't learn from water splashes or yelling. She thinks we have gone mad and raving about some stupid incident. Worse than that, she makes you feel so angry that you literally want to just throw her out.

8) Cats make you feel used : Its so painful to be caring for someone, to wait for someone to return home when you know you are alone in this. They are way too independent and don't like being bothered or involved in your petty human activities. On rare occasions they play hide and seek or ball , ahh don't be overwhelmed its for their own amusement and agility, not for your entertainment. They do nothing for you, nothing at all. They won't even fake it.

9) Cats have no expressions : They are so expressionless, you don't know what's going on in those evil minds of theirs. The only expressions are through meows when they want to sleep or eat or get out or get hurt. All for them. Other than that, people say they kiss by blinking but come on its just something for a cat lover to believe in. They are wild, all they have to do is eat and fuck and sleep. That's it.

10) Cats will escape eventually : All cats are bound to escape, no matter how much you love them or take care, like teenagers they want to run off, have a separate litter of kittens with a lot of male cats. As soon as they enter heat, they want to run away somewhere far where they could be away from the so called staff. Whenever they get a chance, they run and take up other neighbors as new staff. They don't miss owners. They don't consider them owners. They run to them when they come to tell them they missed the caring nurturing staff. Its just nature.

Cats are not smart :P

I know there are a lot of cat lovers out there who go on blogging about how wonderfully smart and talented cats are, how cats  understand a lot of things, your mood and blah blah. But it is not true. Cats are not smart, their memory is as weak as some ant, seriously after being scolded slapped shouted at for doing the same thing, if they keep repeating it, there is definitely some problem with the brains.

My husband had a dog and he says dog remembered everything, he knew when my husband would come, he knew where not to go, sit , jump, play. He told him and the dog would never do it again. So this triggers two statements from cat lovers- either dog is dumb enough to follow instructions and remember them so the master won't get angry and their superior cats are smart to not listen to one who feeds them and go around messing things so they can be shown out door or may be they think they are too cute to get their way back. Their is loads of crap about how cats are individuals, we should respect their individuality , appreciate their freedom and choice of coming to us when they want to.

The only conclusion that came out of my experience with cat is they are mean, selfish and way too aloof. I mean sure if you are old or alone and need something like human to fill the space with, have a cat. But if you want a pet, a real loving one, get a puppy. I had five of them and they would simply follow me for no apparent reason of food or shelter. They just loved and wanted someone to play with. My husband enters and lola won't even pay attention some days, i hate it because he expects her to at least come and meow but she won't , but when she is hungry or sleepy, she just rolls around him, on his lap, on his neck. This is what she does all the time. Its like a human baby, they poop , they pee, they eat but they want to play with other kids and only return home when they are exhausted or hungry. So weirdly similar. Hmmm, i am not angry, i am just wondering at the difference in nature of pets.

Since she has grown, she wants to go outside so so bad she keeps meowing for an hour if she has to. We leave her in the garden and mostly we find her roaming anywhere but garden, no where close to our house. She never wants to come in except when she is hungry or wants to sleep. That's the kind of behavior i read about when people said they treat us like staff. All she cares about is her comfort, her play time. Its like she is in heat too. She keeps rolling on floor, doing strange awkward things and meows when in garden.  I am pretty sure one of these days she will jump up the fence and run away. Just vanish with some other male cat.

Huh, but that's what animals are supposed to do, i have made my peace with it. I know one day she will go and never look back. What scares me the most is if she gets pregnant or gets hurt playing in wild. Believe me, they are not smart, they are just wild and would eat their owner if it comes to it.
